This review is from: John Boos Reversible Cutting Board - 20x15x1.5 in - Cherry The block comes untreated and you wouldn't want stains on there that you can't get out. So you will need the boos block creme. It acts like a wood treatment and sealer. It also enhances the color. I've never tried the oil, but from what I've read, the creme would last longer.
